Exchange Exhibition Program
PDF Print E-mail

INFLIGHT's Exchange Exhibition Program began in 2004, and has played a significant role in the dissemination of Tasmanian experimental contemporary art into the rest of Australia. In turn, this program has enriched the experience of audiences and artists alike in Tasmania through exhibiting some of the most interesting and engaging experimental contemporary art happening across Australia.
This program has seen more than 12 exhibitions of emerging Tasmanian artists sent to various locations around Australia, including Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, Alice Springs and Launceston. In reciprocation, INFLIGHT has hosted an equivalent number of exhibitions in Hobart of leading emerging artists from some of Australia’s most prominent Artist Run Initiatives, including MOP, FirstDraft, BUS, Kings, Watch This Space, Don’t Look Gallery, Hell Gallery and Rocket Art, with more planned for 2011 and beyond.

INFLIGHT established the International Exchange Exhibition Program in 2007, and its first fruition in 2009 with emerging artists James Newitt (Rosalux, Berlin) and Scot Cotterell (DF ARTE, Spain) exhibiting work in Europe. The first reciprocal exchange exhibition Sara & Andre at INFLIGHT curated by Rosalux took place in Oct/Nov 2010. A collaboratively curated (DF ARTE and INFLIGHT) compilation of Spanish and Tasmanian sound art and experimental music is due for release later in 2011.
